In celebration of Chinese New Year 2025, Liberty Fabrics has created a capsule collection to welcome the Year of the Snake. Delving into the rich and mystical symbolism of this zodiac sign, the fabrics studio have designed prints exploring nuances from the reptile’s native foliage to its mesmerising form, with ornate motifs honing in on minute details as well as patterns of bold abstraction. Influenced by an array of references from the archival to the contemporary, get ready to reign in Chinese Lunar New Year with this parade of exuberant prints.

Prosperous treasures and fragrant, sweet oranges believed to bring good luck and happiness feature in this ornate Arts and Crafts-style design, hand-drawn using watercolour pencils in the Liberty design studio. Serpents are carefully placed amongst the blossoms and delicate foliage, embodying wisdom and luck. Jade symbolises purity of character and serene beauty, while the lanterns evoke festive joy and celebration. The gleaming gold and silver treasures signify a never-ending flow of prosperity. Rich, jewel-like tones enhance the New Year merriment and jubilant atmosphere.

Tana Lawn™ cotton is a fabric built by obsession, perfected into a modern masterpiece of production through a bespoke process that has evolved over a century. Printed in our very own Liberty Printing Mill, located between Milan and Lake Como in northern Italy, Tana realises unmatchable fluidity with a silk-like touch, unique print quality and striking colour vibrancy. Machine washable and durable enough for daily wear, it can be used to create everything from simple separates to spectacular statement pieces.
