Make a subtle statement and indulge in the allure of a bygone era with these exquisite Victorian drop earrings from antique purveyor Kojis – a true testament to enduring sophistication.
Meticulously crafted from 14ct gold, each earring centres around a large triangular onyx plaque, set with a recessed triangular insert and three seed pearls. Surrounding the central motif is an arrangement of decorative onyx plaques and additional seed pearls, incorporating symbolic forms including triangles, fleur-de-lys, and crescent moon motifs. Five articulated drops hang from the base of each earring: four comprising diamond-shaped onyx plaques with a single seed pearl drop, and a central drop that includes a further curved onyx motif for added movement and detail. The reverse of the earrings bears an engraved inscription reading: ‘F.W.L TO S.O.L 1865 MRS. F. G. LEAVITT’ – a touching personal dedication typical of high Victorian mourning jewellery.
